Global ad spend is on track to grow 5.3% to $523bn in 2014, up from 3.9% in 2013, and will continue at 5.3% in 2015 and then rise to 5.9% in 2016 on the back of rapid developments in digital advertising, according to the latest Advertising Expenditure Forecasts from media agency ZenithOptimedia,
@Wheelhouse made a comprehensive infographic , 10 Marketing Predictions for 2015, addressing issues from Email Marketing, to lead conversion, to automation platforms. In this inforgraphic they made 10 predictions for 2015 marketing.
Here’s some of the key points.
Content Marketing
Content Marketing is predicted to continue to growing in 2015, a method that still haven’t matured yet in our region ( Middle East). We’ve seen only couple of companies relying on interesting content & contests to gain SOV, although, the infographic stats that interesting content in one of top 3 reasons people follow your brand on social media.
They’ve predicted that more companies will adopt Content Marketing strategies for next year and Content Marketing budgets will increase.
Blogging
According to the @WheelHouse, brands with blogs generates 67% more leads than non-blogging brands.
Marketing Data usage
With the increase, availability and ease-of-use of Marketing Automation Technology -that is expected to grow by 50% in 2015- spending on marketing analytics will increase by 60% during 2015, and companies will seek ways to be data driven
Guest Posting
Guest posting means writing and publishing an article on someone else’s website or blog to help build brand awareness with a different audience and help drive new traffic to your site. However, on Jan, 2014 Matt Cutts mentioned on his blog that guest blogging has gotten too spammy and recommended most site owners stay away from guest blogging.
Explainer Videos
We’ve seen Twitter introduced Promoted Video Cards, we’ve seen 20% increase of conversion rates for Salesforce after using Explainer Videos. Prediction is to see increase of usage of Explainer videos as they deliver your brand’s message easily and more effective.
Personalization
Compared to general ads, many consumers find personalized ads to be more engaging (54%), educational (52%), time-saving (49%) and memorable (45%), according to a Yahoo survey of 6,000 respondents aged 13-64. 74% of customers get frustrated with websites when content has nothing to do with their interests.
Personalized ads will increase as it’s becoming more available and widely adopted
Mobile
The focus on mobile will increase, as mobile targeting getting easier, more available, either by device or by carrier targeting.
Again, ZenithOptimedia says that mobile is growing 7 times faster than desktop.
